KCW Winter Season – Day 1 & 2

This season is starting a little differently then previous ones! I started planning our winter season a while back, set out dates and decided to change at the last minute… Which produced TWO sew along weeks! I have to admit though, I’m embracing these, and we’re therefore starting the winter season with a sew along and closing it with a sew along. Because after all, we all need that extra push to sew, am I right!?

The dates for our first sewalong week are February 20th-26th. Which means today is day 2 already! And projects are starting to pop up in the community pool as we speak! Woot woot! The second set of dates are a month from now, March 20th-26th. So if you’re not ready for this week’s sew along, then you can start planning and get ready for next months. You can sign up hereย for this weeks, and next month’s will be up once this one is over. I’ll be posting a reminder.

If you’re wondering what the theme for this season is… It’s capsule wardrobe. Which means over the next month we’ll be posting inspiration on how to accomplish a capsule wardrobe for your little. Things from seasonal mini wardrobes to transitional ones. It’ll be a lot of fun! I’ll be introducing our contributors sometime this week ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now let’s talk about these projects for a second! Aren’t these awesome?! I love a good applique, and those skinnies! My daughter would absolutely love them… heck, I would love them ๐Ÿ˜‰ And finally, I’ve had that manhattan blouse pattern for ages, and this lemony coloured one is just the push I need to print it out!

I have embraced the capsule wardrobe myself and recently after spending days burried in clean clothes, hubs and I can’t help looking at the mountains of laundry and ask, why not do a modified version of this to fit our girl’s needs???? (modified bc of the rate they dirty their clothes… Toddler eating habits and art whenever wherever! Ha!)

I’m glad there are two sewalongs this time. This weeks falls during my daughters school half term so there is no way I’d find the time to sew with two girls at home! But I will definitely be taking part in the March sewalong (which will be my first time!).

I would just like to comment about the lack of posts here on the blog about kids clothes week. I’m not on Facebook or instagram (by choice) and so i miss out on all the projects completed during the week. Kids clothes week is the only place i share my creations with the online world so I’m sad to see it migrating over to the other social media sites. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way.ย
