Hi Everyone, it’s Anne again from Sofilantjes. I was asked to sew something up to inspire you. Hopefully I can.
The last post I wrote was more about girls than boys, so I though this time I will make it all about the boy, my big Hero. For my inspiration post I was allowed to choose a pattern from Made by Rae. If you did not check out her pattern shop, it is a must. She has some beautiful patterns. Plus a great blog to follow. I choose the Flashback Skinny Tee for my skinny almost 6 yo and she was so lovely to send me the Parsley Pants too, in case I wanted to sew it later on. So sweet!
I sewed up a size 6 with a little extra length. My son is the perfect size 6 in chest according to the size chart. It fits him beautiful and skinny, just like it should. I gave my son a cars shirt with his own road, traffic light and a car! If only I had a car like that….
The road is made by cutting a strip of black knit fabric and adding yellow stripes with a (paint)fabric marker. I sewed it on top of the sleeve with my coverstitch. The car is an iron-on I once received with a fabric order from Joyfits. The two-tone cuff is a hack of the normal 2″ cuff in the pattern. Looks easy right?! I am sure you can do even better than me.
It’s save to say that he really loves this shirt. He wants to wear it again tomorrow. Thank you Rae for a great pattern and sponsoring this winter edition of Kids Clothes week.

Oh good idea with the higway sleeve! My son always drives with his matchbox cars over me…Now he can ride over himself 🙂 I am for all those nice gifts!

The highway sleeve is so fun and the red and green cuff is very unexpected.
Such a creative take on a t-shirt. My kids are outgrowing the smaller size range of the Flashback skinny tee, so it would be awesome to try out the bigher kid size range!
I love a fun theme shirt. The road sleeve especially… For as long as I’ve sewn, I’ve always just been a “wing it” type person (for better or worse) – but recently managed to use a pattern from start to finish and surprised myself by loving it. Winning a few more to add to arsenal would be delightful!

It isn’t easy for me to be inspired by boy’s clothing but this really is perfectly playful and cute!
Those pants look great. I love elastic waist for my son. He’s just turned three and we are still working on potty training, so we sometimes have him in pull ups if we go anywhere far. The problem is my 3 year old wears size 4t and sometimes 5t pants, so the makers leave no room for diapers. Needless to say I have been making him pants for the last couple of months so he isn’t telling me “pants too tight Momma”. Would love to try these ones.

My little one would love a race track/road on his top. It’ll also keep him busy whilst we’re out and about, all I need to do is add a toy car and he’ll have hours of distraction.
