Hey! Are you guys ready for Kids Clothes Week next week? We are going to get you excited with some fantastic sewing and a few giveaways too all this week. So are you ready?!!

It’s Karly here and in case you are still needing some inspiration, I’m showing a super fun shirt by using a pattern provided by one of the sponsors of KCW. If you haven’t seen Megan Nielsen‘s newest patterns, you should go check it out. She’s now making children’s patterns too!
I went with her Mini Briar Sweater & Tee pattern, Version 3. I made the size 8/9 for Zoe, but in this house, if one fits into it that loves it….it’s kind of stolen.
My idea was based on those “Flip Up” shirts that are circulating Pinterest. My girls LOVE Hello Kitty, so we thought it would be fun to do one based on that! Aevarie thinks it’s absolutely hilarious.
To get this look, I cut out two front pieces. I freezer stenciled the saying on the right side of one, then the Zombie Hello Kitty UPSIDE DOWN on the right side of the other one. Then I basted them together and sewed up the shirt like normal.
In case you are wondering, “Why the Zombie Hello Kitty?”, well, my kids are rather obsessed with Zombies too, so it just worked out! It certainly makes for a fun and interactive shirt, and gets your kids cackling like mad people!
I want to say a huge thank you to Meghan Neilsen! Make sure to check out the sponsors this season. They’re full of awesome stuff!
