It’s the new year and everyone is itching to sew! KCW to the rescue! The official challenge week this season is February 2-8, 2015. Are you up for a little challenge? Well then you should sign up! One lucky participant will win a fabulous prize. But the best thing about sewing along isn’t winning a prize. It’s challenging yourself, being a part of a fantastic group of supportive sewers, and making awesome kids’ clothes!
Each season we choose a theme, and you sew different kinds of clothes based on that theme. This winter the theme is UPCYCLED! Upcycled is a funny word that means recycled to make something better. The shirt that always fit you funny would make a great skirt. Those skinny jeans too skinny? You could make them into cute pants for your toddler. It’s simple really: take old things (clothes, curtains, quilts, fabric, whatever) and make new things.
So clean out your closets! Sort through your stash! Donate old toys to the thrift store and then, well, do a little shopping while you are there:) We can’t wait to see what you do with this theme! Before and after pictures are always awesome, but not necessary. And as always, if you’d rather not use the theme, no worries!
There is only one rule for KCW: sew 1 hour a day for 7 days. Are you ready?! Well make it official? Click here to sign up for the FEB. 2015 season. After you sign up, grab a button to put on your blog, or twitter, or Facebook, or Intstagram. The more people sewing along, the more exciting KCW is!
