KCW Plans – what I plan on making

Hello again – Vanessa here from lbg studio! I’m excited about this post for two reasons. . . one is that if you are reading this it means it’s Friday and that’s always a good thing. Seriously, I have a whole new appreciation for weekends now that my kiddo is in kindergarten. Two, putting together this post means I may actually be prepared for KCWC this go around. And that is even better! I have high hopes for sewing up some great pieces and in order to do that, I plan to have my patterns put together and my fabrics ready before hand. Oh, and maybe some good movies picked out for the week because I can’t sew without something to keep me entertained! On to the patterns. . .

CaliFaye Collection

The Voila Blouse pattern by Califaye Collection was a must-buy pattern the minute I saw it. I think loose, swingy tops like these are adorable and will work well under a cardigan or jacket. I’ve already a great voile print washed and ready to go for this top. If I can only manage to get one thing made – it’s going to be this!

Johnny Mangoseed

I’ve had this leggings pattern by Johnny Mangoseed for while now but just never got around to using it. Since my daughter is a tiny shrimp of a kid, regular pants aren’t so much an option. Leggings are my go to pants for her and she can always use more. The pattern includes a doll sized version so Syd’s favorite doll might be getting a new pair of leggings as well.

Heidi & Finn

This slouchy cardigan by Heidi & Finn looks so cozy and will layer well over Syd’s sleeveless dresses and tops. Since there are no button holes to worry about, I might have to make more than one!

See Kate Sew

Finally, I want to make a few of these See Kate Sew raglan tees. They’re simple, comfy, and the perfect blank slate for pattern mixing and maybe even some stenciling. I can see using this pattern + the leggings pattern to make some warm pj’s as well.

I think I’ve got a great pattern line up and can’t wait to get started. I’m really looking forward to seeing all of your awesome creations during KCWC. Thanks so much to Meg for having me. Happy sewing everyone!
